ABOUT US

Over the past 10 years, Weztech has continued to grow - having serviced and repaired a vast diversity
of guitar, amplifier and pedal models - and supporting hundreds of clients from both Melbourne and Interstate.

But we couldn’t do it without daring to dream, having a clear vision for the future and an incredible team of talented individuals who make make it all possible - see below for those involved and what we stand for.

A FAMILY BUSINESS

Weztech is run together by Wes and Lisa operating out of their family home in Mitcham. As a family business, we value fostering strong and genuine relationships with all our clients and through their services endeavor to encourage and support everyone in their pursuit of musical excellence.

They have two young children Zarley (4) and Zadok (2) - two little blessings who bring enormous colour to their life - and which their addition makes for an exciting, busy and wild season - you’ll no doubt see (or hear) them pottering around the workshop when you book your next appointment.

We strive to deliver a personal touch on any instrument or equipment we work on and we treat them as our own. We guarantee that any problem you may have will be heard and we’ll work passionately to provide you with both a true explanation as to its cause and a permanent solution - it’s what we do well and we love it!

We also know we’re not the only professionals in this industry. Over time our business has become part of an established network of experienced and trustworthy luthiers and technicians. Depending on your specific needs, we’re always quick to refer alternative quality people that may better specialize in certain areas.

A MAN WITH A DREAM

The driving force behind it all is 32 year old Wesley Zagorc; a guitarist of over 20 years. Wes began learning the guitar at local high school Vermont Secondary College (2006 - 2011) and graduated from Swinburne University with a double degree in Mechanical Engineering & Commerce (2012 - 2018). He received a High Distinction for his Final Year (Engineering-Research) Project tilted; “Determining The Quality Of Electrostatic Speakers In An Outdoors Environment” and gravitated towards subjects involving ‘Sound, Frequency & Vibration’ and ‘Entrepreneurship & Innovation’.

Befittingly, Wes’s first job (from 2010 - 2014) at age 16 was working part-time on a factory floor assembling electronic circuit boards for Design Com Technologies (now Pixel Technologies) - a local manufacturing company in Mitcham designing commercial electronics for the Elevator Industry. Conveniently, he was exposed to the myriad of components used in electronic applications and was taught the fundamentals of soldering. During his university studies he undertook a 12-Month IBL Placement at Cummins South Pacific (2015) drawing truck engine wiring harness diagrams.

Initially self-taught to repair and modify his own instruments, In October of 2016, Wes decided to put his passion for music and education to the test working on guitars, amplifiers and pedals belonging to friends and family, eventually growing Weztech to support a wide customer base. His pursuit of upskilling and mentorship have led to brief opportunities to learn from and work alongside industry masters like Paul Gale (Soundworks), Dale Sherlock (Sherlock Amplifiers), Chris Wynn (Thomas Lloyd Guitars), Brend Bunte (Gourley Music) and Graham Dicker (ROLA Australia).

Some notable highlights of his budding craftsmanship have been the full replica constructions of three iconic guitars; Jimmy Page’s ‘Dragon’ Telecaster (2018), Eric Clapton’s ‘The Fool’ SG (2020), and Andy Summers’ Three-Tone Sunburst Telecaster (2022) - all hand-painted and assembled by Wes - two of which have been officially signed by the respective affiliated original band members: Todd Rundgren of Utopia (2025) and Stewart Copeland of The Police (2026).

Wes’s experience as a professional musician include: being lead guitarist / vocalist / sound engineer for cover bands; Midnight Medley (2017 - 2020) and Herding Cats (2019), co-founder / lead guitarist / bass guitarist for the local bands; Olympic White (2018 - 2021) and Dear Charlie (2022). He has also performed with the National Boys Choir of Australia (NBCA) at their Christmas Concerts held at the Hamer Hall, has served in the worship bands for churches Mitcham BaptistNew Hope Baptist and Croydon Hill Baptist and has volunteered with Red Frogs Victoria at Phillip Island during schoolies week as the Location Leader from (2017 - 2020). Since 2025, Wes is a member of the Victorian Division of the Historic Radio Society Of Australia (HRSA).
